The site of Nor Geghi in Armenia was the first firmly dated site found to contain a Levallois assemblage in MIS9e: Adler and colleagues argue that the presence of Levallois in Armenia and other places in conjunction with Acheulean biface technology suggest that the transition to Levallois technology occurred independently several times before becoming widespread. Levallois, they argue, was part of a logical progression from a lithic biface technology, rather than a replacement by movement of archaic humans out of Africa. Scholars today believe that the long, long range of time in which the technique is recognized in lithic assemblages masks a high degree of variability, including differences in surface preparation, orientation of flake removal, and adjustments for raw source material. A range of tools made on Levallois flakes are also recognized, including the Levallois point. Some Recent Levallois Studies Archaeologists believe the purpose was to produce a single preferential Levallois flake, a nearly circular flake mimicking the original contours of the core. Eren, Bradley, and Sampson (2011) conducted some experimental archaeology, attempting to achieve that implied goal. They discovered that to create a perfect Levallois flake requires a level of skill that can only be identified under very specific circumstances: single knapper, all pieces of the production process present and refitted. Sisk and Shea (2009) suggest that Levallois points — stone projectile points formed on Levallois flakes — might have been used as arrowheads. After fifty years or so, Clarks stone tool taxonomy has lost some of its usefulness: so much has been learned that the five-mode stage of technology is far too simple. Shea (2013) proposes a new taxonomy for stone tools with nine modes, based on variations and innovations not known when Clark published his seminal paper. In his intriguing paper, Shea defines Levallois as Mode F, bifacial hierarchical cores, which more specifically embraces the technological variations. For example, the media continues to flash very young, beautiful women on TV and commercials promoting annotating creams, booth and fillers and they will use anyone over 60 when promoting medications or trying to sell retirement homes or medical devices depicting them as though they all need assistance. The truth is that society’s view of â€Å"old age† has not kept up with the reality of older Canadians health or the fact that while many people over the age of 65 experience some physical and mental limitations, they learn to live tit them and lead happy and productive lives (Unit 2, pig. 7). Society has the tendency to lump all seniors into one demographic group whereas in fact, the elderly are a very diverse group. As people age they tend to get more different from one another due to the different lifetime milestones (Unit 2, pig. 28). Another example of a myth in today’s society that I can relate to myself in my field of work is the myth that intelligence decli nes with age. Where I work doctors will perform MUSE and MOCHA intelligence with older people did have lower scores when compared to younger people, the elderly were not exposed to such tests before. Once the elderly had some training in these types of tests their scores improved and some even better than their counterparts. Lastly, my favorite example is Centenarians. There are approximately three thousand people in Canada who are 100 years old or older. The myth here that this challenges is that all older people are sick and frail. This group of people show remarkable good health and many are actually healthier then their younger generation in the ass’s or ass’s. Therefore in conclusion, living in a society in this day and age where ageism still exists does not make sense. There is so much information out there and help available for other stereotypes and â€Å"ism’s† such as sexism and racism that in today’s world with the information that we have, ageism should never exist and it should more widely discussed. Society should be more accepting of the ‘ageing self and embrace it rather than trying to reverse it. Stafford’s work is full of surprises for writer and reader alike; when Stafford starts a poem you can never be sure how it will end (Brehm). Let’s take the time to break down and understand the meaning of Stafford’s oem, so that we can get the full meaning behind his intended work. The title of the poem is â€Å"Ask Me,† any reader may think â€Å"Ask Me what? † But the title speaks for itself as you read on. Stafford starts his poem off with many questions pointed towards the reader. But the question is are they being asked to us, or are we the reader supposed to ask them of ourselves? His poem at first is a little unclean on w hat is really being asked and to whom. So let’s begin form the first line in which Stafford says â€Å"Some time when the river is ice ask me mistakes I have made† (Stafford). Stafford paraphrases this line as â€Å"When it’s quiet and cold and we have some chance to interchange without hurry, confront me if you like with a challenge about weather I think I have made mistakes in my life† (Stafford). Stafford is asking if the decisions one chooses in life are mistakes, or how life is meant to be? He follows with asking if the events he has following his life are what others would see. But what you do in your life is your decision, are Stafford’s choices made really mistakes made or could he have changed things if he choose to do something differently? In lines 4-7 Stafford says â€Å"Others have come in their slow way into my thought, and some have tried to help or to hurt-ask me what the difference their strongest love or hate has made (Stafford). Stafford is stating that no matter what one choose to do in life there will always others around to either help you or hurt you. He asks if their (others) intentions have helped or hurt him? (Stafford). But why should you allow others to influence your life, for everyone lives their own individual one. Nobody is perfect and the people around you have no right to judge you on that. The questions deferred in the first line of â€Å"Ask Me† seem to show some ultimate judgment about the speaker (I) (Anderson). Stafford repeats â€Å"Ask Me† three times within the first stance giving the reader (you) time to think and answer. Is he really asking for answers from somebody or just simply speaking to himself? He starts his second stance off by stating â€Å"I will listen to what you have to say† (Stafford). Stafford is asking (you) to answer to his life; do you think that what we do in life are mistakes of just life itself? Stafford takes the time to let the reader think and analyze the questions asked in the first seven lines. In lines 9 and 10 he says that â€Å"You and I can turn and look at the silent river and wait† (Stafford). But if you remember in the first line the river is ice so it’s not only silent but calm, it’s not moving at all. â€Å"The speaker in the poem chooses not to discuss â€Å"whether/ what I have done is my life† until the river is ice† (Anderson). I think that he uses the time of winter to wait for the river to freeze so share his thoughts. For if the river is frozen it cannot pass on and judge his life. He follows in lines 11-13 that the river is silent but there are still currents and movement hidden under the ice. Stafford paraphrases these lines â€Å"That river, and that world-and our lives-all share the depth and stillness of much more significance then our talk, or intentions† (Stafford). I believe that he trying to tell (you) the reader that no matter what you do in life or who has something to say about it the actions in which we choose to make have more significance than we may see. In the last line Stafford says â€Å"What the river says, that is what I say† (Stafford). Stafford uses the â€Å"ice as a protective mask within the poem† (Anderson), not allowing any final judgment to be passed. Starting with the frozen river in the first line Stafford gives us the ultimate life lesson hidden within life’s â€Å"mistakes† that the choices we make in life are our own and there are people around us that will either help or hurt. We all ask ourselves and others as well if our decisions are a mistake. But in actuality no decision in life is a mistake, but a lesson in which we learn from. You will always have people within your life that are there to hurt you or help you, but in the end what is done is your choice. Stafford’s use of the frozen river allows us to take the time and â€Å"freeze†, to think on what we are or have done. We as humans are not perfect and shouldn’t hide behind â€Å"the ice† for the â€Å"mistakes† we have made, for our life is already planned out for us it’s our decision on what road to take. What if all of America spoke in Ebonics? â€Å"What up cuz† or â€Å"Holla at me. † That would be crazy right? Sharice, Travis, Rickia, and I did a report on the evidence for the critical element of the Oakland school board proposal and the convention that temporary African American Vernacular Forms (AAV) of speaking show strong influence from West-African languages. The Oakland school board proposed to the state that the kids learning will be improved with the recognition and understanding of Ebonics. My article came from the internet, and it is titled â€Å"A Case of Ebonics. † Ebonics is a critical language, with powerful elements of a distinct language, spoken by many Americans of African descent, a language marked by a long and rich history. While most other languages are restricted to specific geographical regions, Ebonics is a way of speaking shared by a large percentage of African-Americans living everywhere in the United States. Ebonics has been branded as a poor form of Standard English. Some think of it as lazy lips and lazy thinking. Because Ebonics held on to many leftover characteristics from West African languages, there has been debate as to whether it is a language of American English or another language altogether. Ebonics has a long history that began in Africa. It started when people from many different African villages were brought to American slave markets. The slave owners often purposely mixed the slaves by tribe so that they could not communicate directly in the language of a single tribe. For them to communicate with each other, the slaves developed a pidgin language, a mixture of various African languages. Over the centuries, this early pidgin blended with aspects of â€Å"Standard English† to form â€Å"Black English† but it still has many of the features of its ancestor. That is, many of the unique forms of Ebonics can be identified as leftovers of West African languages. For example some researchers say that the word for cat in several African languages also means â€Å"man. † For this reason our expression â€Å"cool cat† is derived from Ebonics. Despite these differences, Ebonics is a language that fully serves the needs of its users. Its grammar is just as complicated as Standard English. It’s just a different grammar. The meaning of â€Å"He didn’t do nothing† is perfectly understood by all Ebonics speakers, and by standard English speakers as well. A man by the name of Ishmael Reed makes clear the use of Ebonics indicates neither a lack of education nor an inability to speak in other tongues: â€Å"You not gone make me give up Black English. When you ask me to give up Black English you askin me to give up my soul. I agree with Reed that everyone needs to learn and master Standard English to have the best chance to succeed in America. In certain contexts, someone (like a manager) might make a judgment about the way we black people talk. If we want to become successful we must learn Standard English. I hope that the movement of correction for Ebonics movement will work against the widespread disrespect of the way most African-American youth talk. People should be less defensive about the language in which we live and move and maybe we can better position to employ both the Ebonics and the standard codes and to reap the full fruits of our American civilization. If people were less defensive about Ebonics maybe then we as people could associate Standard English with Ebonics. And with all of this we could reap the full fruits of our American civilization.

Economic management is The basic aim of any government in the world and its main policy objectives includes management of low and stable inflation, reduction in unemployment, maintain economic growth and to secure a favorable balance of payments.Fiscal lever is one of the main policy tools available to government to tackle economic downturn. The security of attachment in infants was investigated by Mary Ainsworth in the strange situation study, in order to determine the nature of attachment behaviours and styles of attachment. In the ‘strange situation’, infants and their mothers were observed in a range of situations, which allowed the researcher to see the different types of behaviours shown. The infants were observed through video cameras in a purpose-built laboratory playroom with their mothers. The room contained two comfortable chairs and a play area with a set of toys suitable for young children.
